What is VPK?
It’s easy. It’s FREE for ALL regardless of income. Military dependents are eligible, too.
St. Paul Preschool offers the Florida Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten program (VPK). This is a FREE, voluntary state subsidized program for all children who turn four on or by September 1. To participate your child must be registered and tracked by the State of Florida. Parents must supply birth certificates and proof of residency to Child Care Services (107 Tupelo Ave., Fort Walton Beach, Florida, phone: 850-833-9330) for all participating students. VPK students must attend class for 540 hours to be eligible.
You may read additional information and apply for the VPK program at School Readiness. After you complete this on-line application for VPK, you will be required to meet with a representative of the early learning coalition that serves Okaloosa County.
